If you are receiving any kind of periodontal surgery at our practice, there are a number of instructions that you must follow prior to your treatment. We will also provide you with these pre-operative instructions at our practice during your initial consultation with Dr. Avera. If you have questions about our pre-operative instructions, and to make an appointment with our periodontist in Auburn, CA, please call our office.
DO NOT:
- Take any aspirin for one week before your treatment.
- Take any blood thinning medications for 3 days before your treatment, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
- Consume caffeinated beverages or pills with your pre-treatment medications.
- Drive to your own appointment. The dental sedative prescribed for you will impair your judgment. Plan to stay at home following your procedure. Do not drive, run errands, use machinery, or participate in any activity that requires concentration.
- Use any kind of fragrance on the day of your treatment.
DO:
- Eat a light to a medium-sized meal before your appointment.
- Wear old, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
- Be sure that all your questions are answered before you arrive for your procedure.
Stop using the following medications, and avoid the following foods, for one week prior to your surgery and for 3-4 days following your procedure:
